2017 - Our Story
Jan 22, 2018
The game changed for us in 2017, as we took things up a notch.
We marched into the New Year declaring ‘we are here – and we are ready to fight for what we believe in!’
Standing by our side we had none other than national treasure John Cleese - whose anti-establishment views made him the perfect person to help us spread our message.
We took to the newspapers, the radio stations and the television channels with our witty adverts, which aimed to unmask the truth behind the PPI scandal.
Our billboard, which sat in London’s financial district, Canary Wharf, showed we weren’t afraid to take our fight to their door.
Our message to the banks was clear – you took money “immorally and illegally” and we aren’t going to take that lying down.
And we didn’t.
As the deadline approached we stood up, when no one else did, and said ‘actually this isn’t right’. Because it wasn’t, and isn’t right, that customers who do not claim back their mis-sold PPI before the deadline will lose that money, forever.
Nevertheless, despite our efforts, the deadline was enforced. But that didn’t mean our endeavours were in vain.
Our exertion of passion, and our belief in what was right, meant that even the tabloid papers, who’ve historically always portrayed us as the villains, began to change their stance - with The Guardian admitting that the deadline ‘will only benefit the banks’.
Our growing presence within the industry led to us being one of only 27 Welsh businesses to be named in the London Stock Exchange Group’s '1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2017'!
And we reached another impressive milestone – and can now proclaim to have successfully secured over £400 million in offers for our customers!
Shockingly, out of all of the customers we successfully recovered compensation for in 2017, 84.17% were completely unaware they had the policy in the first place. This just shows the importance of the work we are doing, to information customers there is a chance they are owed compensation – because so many people are unaware.
Our New Year’s resolution this year hasn’t changed, we vow to continue doing what we always have done. We vow to continue communicating the injustice that has occurred, and vow to continue offering the same great service we are known for.
We may look at refreshing new ways in which we can spread our message - for example by exhibiting at Naidex 2018.
Naidex is Europe’s biggest trade and consumer show dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and lifestyle of people with a disability or impairment.
As a business we often speak to people with long term health conditions or disabilities. PPI was designed to cover debt repayments if a customer suffered a temporary or permanent loss of income due to accident, sickness or unemployment.
However the insurance often contained all sorts of exclusions and limitations meaning those suffering from pre-existing medical conditions, could never have claimed on their PPI if they had needed to.
As part of our aim to help as many people as possible get back the money they are rightfully owed, We Fight Any Claim will be attending the Naidex 2018.
We will be on hand to answer any questions about the link between pre-existing medical conditions and the PPI scandal, and will be offering a free, no obligation PPI check for all attendees.
Our aim is to make sure everyone who was mis-sold PPI is properly compensated. So whether you’re a consumer who would simply like to find out some more information about the PPI deadline, or you want to start your free PPI check today, our friendly advisors will be happy to assist you in whatever way they can.
