Naidex 2018
May 22, 2018
Naidex is Europe’s biggest trade and consumer show dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and lifestyle of people with a disability or impairment. Taking place over two days, it is the powerhouse event of the independent living and disability industries.
Back in December last year, we announced that we were to exhibit at Naidex 2018 as part of our aim to help as many people as possible get back the money they’re owed.
97%* of our successful customers were not made aware of the medical exclusions on Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) when they took out their policy. A further 86%* were not asked any information about their pre-existing medical conditions when applying for PPI.
We were inspired by these shocking statistics linking pre-existing medical conditions and PPI, and felt it our duty to offer advice and support to those who could’ve been affected by hidden medical exclusions in their policies.
For us, it was a privilege to be able to take the time to have face to face conversations with those who might’ve been paying out for an insurance product that never would’ve helped them in the first place due to their medical condition or disability.
So April 25th arrived, and we made the journey up to Birmingham to set up our stall and display our information (and a few free pens, of course!).
It turns out, exhibiting at Naidex offered us more than we ever could’ve expected.
Yes, we were able to talk to the thousands of visitors about payment protection insurance and the mis-selling scandal. Yes, we were able to explain why having a pre-existing medical condition made you even more vulnerable to being mis-sold PPI, and that many customers who have a pre-existing medical condition go on to have a successful claim with us due to those exclusions.
But most importantly, we got the opportunity to put a friendly face to our name and eliminate the worries most consumers have of discussing their financial information over the phone.
We were able to have genuine, face to face conversations with people about their concerns around PPI and making a claim, and could offer support and advice with a personal touch.
Being part of the claims management world can be difficult at times, and one of the biggest hurdles is being demonised by the media.
Through our presence at Naidex we were able to promote positive change in how the industry as a whole is portrayed in the media, and make consumers feel more comfortable in their knowledge of PPI and their ability to make a claim.
